The Bilingual Teaching Fellowship
Charter Teacher Pipeline Grant
Educational Solutions for Children, Inc. recently partnered with Mundo Verde Bilingual Public Charter School, Urban Teachers, and Center for Applied Linguistics to submit a successful Charter Teacher Pipeline Grant. Through this project, partners will effectively train new and novice teachers through a Bilingual Teacher Fellowship. The Mundo Verde Bilingual Teacher Fellowship is aimed to develop a homegrown teaching corps and advance the next generation of outstanding bilingual educators in the Washington Metro Area. This 5 month collaborative learning experience will prepare new and novice teachers to take on the bilingual classroom and better serve language learners with a toolkit of best practices, the support of a learning community, and a polished portfolio showcasing proven skills and equity-rooted mindset. Teachers will progress through a series of four interactive learning modules including: 1) Hands-On and Inquiry Based Learning, 2) TESOL and Dual Language Principles, 3) Differentiation for Language Learners, 4) Dual Language and Special Education. Educational Solutions for Children, Inc. has been tasked with developing both the TESOL and Dual Language Principles and Differentiation for Language Learners modules as well as supporting with training and mentoring as teachers progress through the collaborative learning process.
